I don't understant, for the pen okay,but you need a receiver right?
-
it's not an Ir pen if you're not using a pen

@fireball1821 Yes
-
will a laser work

@International0IDIOT It might, but the Wii remote is really looking for a wavelength of 940 nm (nano meters) ideally. The Vishay TSAL 6400 IR LED is the exactly model used by Johny Chung Lee in his video. I sell them on ebay, .99 plus 60 shipping gets 1 to you anywhere in the United States. I you buy 2 or more the shipping is only 40 cents. Just go on ebay and search for "IR PEN".

yes and not, The problem, the Led are "inside" and correct is, Outside, the control wii no "see" the Light, infrared., but is a Excelent Idea! thanks
Si y no, est muy muy bien todo pero el detalle es que el control wii debe "ver" la luz del infrarojo, y este modelo evidentemente no sirve correctamente porque queda oculto. pero es un excelente aporte. Gracias

Where do you put the wii remote?? in front of the pc or where? I tried it but is not as accurate as you showed. Thanks

A normal LED you can see, an IR LED you can't. If you really don't want to make an IR pen, you can try using a normal TV remote, however depending on the remote the IR light may be inconsistant and flash.

It is a little more complicated than that!
It depends on the wave-length of the IR-led on the TV remote (many are below 940nm) and a TV remove flashes the IR-Led giving you no control over the IR-Led. You will find a cigarette lighter is actually easier and you can control it (fire emits IR-Light).

Join the discussion board "wiimoteproject". It will provide more detailed support on your needs for producing an IR-Pen.
An IR-LED operates at a light spectrum above 850nm (wiimote best at 950nm) and cannot be seen by the naked eye. I suggest you stick with the Vishay TSAL6400.
