Thankyou for your comments,
I'll try that next time we meet up, which song do you mean though, I'm really new to the folk scene just a couple of months now and I've got a long way to go to understanding how the songs work, ben is great on accordian and has to guide me all the way any advice you can give would be welcome! as I usually play Bluegrass Banjo,
thanks again
Jim

Oh, by the way, try playing Em and C as the first two chords in the B part. It sounds great the way you're doing it, but I think playing these alternative chords gives the tune a neat, unexpected model sound. Happy music!

Very nice! Really like the first tune, sounds scandinavian..??? the accordion is great and Spootiskerry is one of our favorite tunes, it's the first track on our CD "Relative Minors". We just posted a new video of our CD release concert opening set, check it out. Cheers & best wishes from Victoria, BC, Canada!

Wow..if you're new to the folk scene, you're off to a cracker jack start! Sorry - I meant Spootiskerry. I just love the sound of an Em as the first chord in the B part of that tune. I'm in a bluegrass band, too (guitar mostly), but my first love is Irish/celtic.
