Visit http://www.SHEEmusic.com - In this blog, I discuss how to use the skills youve developed over the years honing your craft as an emcee/rapper and transition it into a rewarding career. Ultimately, Im reaching out to other artist urging them not to limit themselves by thinking music is their only talent. I suggest a few career paths and personality traits / skill sets that emcees typically possess, which skills are transferable etc. In this particular blog emphasis is placed on communication / public speaking, after all MC means MOVE THE CROWD. *RATE *COMMENT *SUBSCRIBE

  • I've been in the insurance field for several years, but have grown miserable working in a cubicle. I find myself yearning to find an industry related career, whether it be tour management, A&R or simply consulting new artists in creative writing techniques.

Your message is truly admirable and accurate as far as aspirations vs limitations are concerned. But it must be stressed that any role one takes on MUST be challenging and interesting enough to maintain the individual's interest.

    Respect

  • Excellent response, thanks. The last part where you stated "any role one takes on MUST be challenging and interesting enough to maintain the individual's interest" stuck out in my mind...very true.

There are 2 roads to the music business

There is Mainstream (Which I feel that's the only area that you interest you)

and there's Independence starting your own record label from the ground up.

being a Independent Rap Artist in this area your never limited because you opened your own doors and not waiting all your life for a major record label to pick you up.

    Main Point

There's people who wait for things to happen

and there's people that make things happen.

    The Truth has been told

  • i enjoyed this video im a producer and i have mc's that say the n word and other things like that. and i never looked at mc's as a public speakers and now that i know that im going to pass that along to them thank you for your wise wisdom

  • very inspiring enjoyed

  • Hey there! I'm a white guy that raps. Sometimes I question why I do it. I don't expect to profit from it but I really enjoy it and I do it most the time I get a free moment. My question to you is, how do I know I'm a true MC? I rap and write with all the feelings I can but seriously I'm white and I don't fully know the black history because to me rap is deferent to other mcs that I've met or seen. Listen to one of my songs if you have a second I would mean a lot to me

  • If I said you hits the nail on the head it would be an understatement, great vid!

  • SHEE I just want to thank you for speaking your mind as I listion to your words they remind me to follow my dream and never give up to be a MC or any thing that I have skill in as and artist. Thanks to you I feel that I must do better and be better as a Raper/Dj

  • ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • Last word- I think it is great how you want to build people up. There needs to be more people like you.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Can be applied to many fields. As a magician it is important for me to know just as much if not more about business and marketing than making kids have fun through a magic show.
