Appointment of new NCRHA Board of Directors.mov

Port of Spain, December 06, 2010: The new North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) Board received their instruments of appointment at a brief press conference on December 6th 2010 at the Ministry of Health's Head Office Building, Park Street, Port of Spain. The NCRHA Board, led by Dr Ashvin Sharma, an Orthodontic practitioner and lecturer, was reminded that they must make customer service a focal point and the people they serve must be at the heart of everything they do. Annual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between the Ministry of Health and the NCRHA were also distributed to the board members to introduce performance metrics against which the performance of
the NCRHA will be measured.




Remarking that the caliber of the board members was something to be proud of, Senator the Honourable Therese Baptiste-Cornelis Minister of Health presented the instruments of appointment to formally install the NCRHA Board. The Honourable Minister noted that the NCRHA region can be described as unique in that it has responsibility for the management and operation of three (3)
hospitals, including the only paediatric and women's hospitals in the country -- the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, the Wendy Fitzwilliam Paediatric Hospital and the Mount Hope Women's Hospital - with two of these hospitals being teaching institutions.
