i think some of the musicians are using Fishman pickups poised over the middle joint - still, this is quite heavenly - the opening always makes goosebumps!

Very smooth performance...
Maybe a little too smooth for me.
I prefer to hear more articulation and change & interaction of characters, such as you can experience e.g. on the legendary philips recording of the Gran Partita by the wind players of the Orchestra of the 18th century, or, in more recent times, by the french Ensemble Philidor - both on period instruments.
But anyway, highest respect for the wonderful musicians of the NBE!
