For anyone else interested in slide, check out Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Duane Allman, Sonny Landreth and of course, Ry Cooder. Kirk Lorange, however, could easily hold his own with any of them.

I have a question! What if the song is just one riff with no chords change and it is just a palm muted E string? What do you do then? How do I improvise?

You know, it might be easier to see that they were chord tones if you held the chords. It's really hard to follow one finger and know the chords higher up the neck. Came back for another listen. Nice.

Thnaks planetalk, it's a very nice progression. I've written it down. Love how it contains that single-note run-down in the chords on the B string g,f,e,eb,d. It's just charming. -Noodler.

Almost, David, here it is: G, G7, C, Cm, Cm6, G, E7, A7, D7, G then the turnaround Edim, Am7/-5, G

Try G,G7 C, Cminor, G, Em7 ,C, D7, G. The idea is that when he plays the F on the B string, you have to know that's the b7th of G. ie Every note he's playing is from the chords so watch carefully. It is hard to see though. I went by ear and may be wrong.

messed me up for a bit too.

Use the guide tones (3rd and 7th) of the chord to lead from one to the other. This will almost always give you motion by a step either up or downwards; very smooth motion.

Can you tell us what the chord progression is?

Is the guitar in standard tuning? Thanks.
