@jshwetz1, at that time, the Winter Olympics were included into the Summer Olympics, it wasn't until 1994 that there was an official Winter Olympics, on it's own four-year cycle.

Also, I believe DRLibby was just saying the first Torch Relay originated in Germany. Hitler came up with the idea, and from then on, we've continued the Relay as a tradition.

Maybe YOU shouldn't believe all the crap you read on the internet.
