Here's a bit of footage from The GG Shinobi II: The Silent Fury for Game Gear. Yes, I'm a bit rusty at it. My apologies for the God-awful canyon playthrough.

  • If I didn't know any better I would think this was 16-bit.

  • @MoonshadowCaz - Yeah, considering the fact that Game Gear could only display around half the number of colors as Genesis could at any given time, I'd say that Game Gear's larger selection of colors still allowed some Game Gear games to look better than certain Genesis games.

  • I had this game I could never get to the final boss because my game gear would shut of battery die you know:( and my friends geneses was at his house the cord can be used on a game gear to play using the wall plug

  • @bland9876 - To be honest, in all the years that I've had my Game Gear, I don't think that I've ever had batteries in it. I pretty much always used the wall adapter, and I've finished the game maybe two or three times, I believe.

  • @Velitaris I still remember that password, haha.

  • @VonSeux size

  • Fucking armadillos!

  • @VonSeux if you watch the the history facts

a winning system has nothing to do with catalogue, strong hardware, battery life or that sort of things

the good catalogue comes when the console is getting successful in the market not before, to me when a system success is a mixture of popularity (marketing) and a few killer apps for everyone, and if you add a bit of luck that's enough

  • @VonSeux - Each handheld has its games that did or didn't age well. One game for the original Game Boy that I can think of that's AWESOME is Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues. Still, yeah, Game Gear did have a lot of games that've held up a lot better. Thing is, people don't always buy what's better; they buy what their friends have, or they just get what their parents give them.
