There was something about hopping from treetop platforms into explosive barrels, firing your monkey and his chimp sidekick spinning into the verdant oblivion (reckless abandon!) that screamed Ace of Base. There, I said it. I honestly used to turn down the volume on my television when I played Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. I turned it all the way down, and cranked Ace of Base's ridiculous music. Why did I do this, you ask? The music and sound in the original Donkey Kong Country was one of the reasons to play the game, you say? I say I was a strange kid. But, you know what? It somehow fit.
