Initial D - Battle 02: AE86 vs R32 GT-R
The Battle Continues

Can the kid with a 10-year-old AE86 keep up with the legend of the mighty "Three-Two" with ATTESSA-ETS all-wheel-drive? In part 2, the tense battle continues.

Chased by the Red Suns team as observers, the black Three-Two driven by Nakazato and the black & white Eight-Six battle down the mountain pass (touge) in a time attack on Mt Akina.

  • There will always be debate about this battle - let me say on the show itself the characters debate drift VS grip driving. And next they debate whether it's possible to defeat the R32 with a less powerful car. Finally the driver in the Eight-Six has much more experience than the driver of the Three-Two. He's been driving since age 12(?) taught secret techniques by his father Bunta, a former racer and car tuner - so he is actually a downhill specialist - and this mountain is his home turf.

  • i guess you haven't seen tsuchiya and his ae86 vs an r34 which is even better than the r32.

  • I love when "Burning Up For You" comes up when Takumi is finally catching up to Nakazato. ^_^

  • What's the title of the OST where Nakazato first showed up in the show?

  • Takumi's facial expression: 0 fucks given

  • @BDXRdemon actually the r32 is better suited for the downhill then the 34 because of the weight difference.

  • Gotta agree with geniegogo, Everyone knows that a straight up drag between Akina's 86 and the 32 at that point in the series the 32 would win hands down...but a good power to weight ratio mixed with the amount of grip capable with the low weight of an AE86 will forever dominate the downhill run of Mount Akina against a Nissan 32

  • one dislike!? must be Nakazato! Takumi have more experience than any other racers(except ryousuke takahashi[big brother of keisuke] and his father, bunta)

    LOL for nakazato!

  • beautiful

  • the AE86 only win on corner

  • Actually, if it is lightness that takumi can win against Nakazato R32. The AE86 is lighter and easier to control than R32 in the touge and in the later battle nakazato made a mistake in not defending his line well and that mistake is takumi advantage. Those who have this anime will know what i mean.

  • that not all
