This is a truly awesome piece of mechanical engineering and machinery. Whilst I was out and about on my travels at the Great Dorset Steam Fair in 2003 (when it used to be a real "Great Dorset Steam Fair") I stumbled upon this fully metal construction - home built, hand made Radio Controlled Tiger Tank. I asked the owner and builder if he would be as kind as to give us a demonstration, and he gladly obliged. Unfortunately I don't have his name so can't give credit to him, but if you know him, good for you.
I recall being told that this tank also fires blanks, and that the barrel is machined and rifled right the way down it's length. Awesome!
I refer to this Steam Fair as not being what it once was because back then, you had scale models of steam traction engines and all sorts from past eras driving along amongst the public, and giving people rides too and from the all important beer tents etc, but now of course due to our stupidly growing adherence to becoming a pathetic Health & Safety governed nanny nation all this has stopped and now these displays of wonderful scale models and marvels in model engineering have to be roped off from the public and cast aside in a remote field where you have to view from a distance.
If I had the power, things would be so different from now, and much like the past, without the risk or even the ability to sue each other... You get hurt, it's your own damned fault!
Nice does it fire

how much did it cost to build? i would love to build something like this where did you find the tracks? what about the drivetrain what did you use for those? are you possibly on a forum where i could see the build?

@94civiclxgrey I didn't build this tank, I just filmed it while the driver and owner (who I have no contact with) did his little performance for the camera. I believe that you can actually purchase them as kits which require a little machining before assembly. I'm sure if you google "Metal RC Tank Kits" you'll find something that may be of interest to yourself.
