An introduction to the project to restart the ANSI standard process for the Smalltalk programming language. This short and rather crude video was made to be shown at the Smalltalk 07 conference in Buenos Aires in December 2007.

  • Discovering Smalltalk by Wilf Lalonde. It is quite old (1995) but a good introduction.

  • There's still dedicated community of coders and companies using smalltalk in real life applications, surprisingly enough. Me, I'm just happy to see people using unique tools to solve their problems, instead of C/C++ which tend to get a little boring.

  • Seems to me like at some point in the future, there might be hope for people who are terrible with programing. Such as myself for example. :) Couldn't code my way out of a paper bag. lol

  • I like smalltalk, I have the "squeak" book, can you recommend

any other good books on this language? I like working with it,

and would like to learn more.

  • No..it is not..it was found out that Smalltalk is better choice for parallel computing (grid). If there are a number of streams, Smalltalk is fast, even at times when fix is necessary.

  • Smalltalk is beatiful but is dead. Move ahead

  • A good video - I wish I had more time to post videos on Squeak.
