Re: Polish tradesmen: I've lots of experience in the trade market - Polish tradesmen generally quote quicker, work harder, do the job better, are more adaptable and cost less. Why would any sane person go to a relatively lazy, expensive, pooor quality British worker? Perhaps British tradesmen can't hack the competition...perhaps they've been ripping us off for too long. P.S: What exaclty is a 'Brit' (?) Perhaps you're narrow-minded and intolerant.

@talara18 Talara - Perhaps worth looking up who THE number one pilot ace weas on the Allies side in WWI (Francisek - Czech guy) and how many Czechs heled save our island. Do we 'thank' Churchill for turning his back on Poland and 'selling' Poland to Stalin at Yalta (Google it, 'if' you don't know). Agreed, the Russians and Yanks had a significant effect- but the topic is Polish, who also contributedsignificantly..

@barrach7 Bengalis..Czechs (I think not) Poles made a contribution yes as did Canadians, but we mostly have to thank the Russians and the yanks for winning the war? Polish immigration has put an immense strain on the British working classes and has kept wages down and put builders plumbers, painter -decorators out of business due them being able to work for prices Brits can't compete with. It was a mistake not to put Immigration caps in 2004.

At least 40,000 Scottish persons went to Poland for employment and a better life in a better, more tolerant country. FACT. If it wasn't for the Poles, BEngalis, Czechs, Canadians etc, we'd v probably be speaking German now and have limited freedoms. FACT Almost EVERY EU Polish immigrant has a relatively superior work ethic and the Polish education system is better than ours. FACT
