Marcus Carter, a 27 year old U.S. Army veteran awarded the $500 grant Brendan Baird.

"Just because you don't benefit directly doesn't mean it isn't beneficial," Carter, 27, explained.

The U.S. Army veteran is the vice president of the Former Majority Association for Equality, a group that awards scholarships solely to white men.

"It just got really frustrating when every other scholarship you happen to find online you need not apply to based on your ethnicity or gender," said Colby Bohannan, one of FMAFE's founders.

Searching scholarship databases such as scholarships.com and fastweb.com, every group has their own. There are categories for only African-Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians and even atheists.

But, Carter said as an African-American, he joined the group because he served two tours of duty in Iraq with Bohannan and thinks awarding college scholarships to anyone is beneficial to everyone.

"I can't really say I understand where they're coming from, being only 27 years old, I don't feel racially oppressed," Carter said.

  • @asceventura

    And we are in agreement:)

  • @Reido2828 The thing is with these scholarships is that they can give them out to whomever they want. Which I am fine with since it is their money. If they want to give it to someone who has red hair, blue eyes, at least 6'3 and weigh less than 220 lbs then let them. I do feel that scholarships should be for someone who cant afford their way through college, but if they're going to allow blacks, asian etc etc only, then these guys should be allowed to do this as well without being criticized.

  • @asceventura

So is Asian or Aboriginal. All of them are and should be reserved for the poor and poor only.

  • @HuskyDiaries I love the no response.

  • @JonathanJimenez111 Saying "whites only" is misleading. If you are 25% Caucasian you are eligible for this. Which means if you have 3 100% non-Caucasian grandparents, and 1 100% Caucasian grandparent, you are still eligible for this scholarship. Meaning a person who has the skin color that is NOT white can still get this scholarship. As for women only... There are MANY scholarships that men can't get because they are women only scholarships.

  • VP black guy in video is a payed puppet like obama lol if scholarship was fairly distributed, there wudnt be any need for black hispanic etc scholarships..majority of blacks gets scholarship thru athletics which is billion dollar profit annually for ncaa and these days a degree dont automatically guarantee a career just mostly debt

  • @201stars "Blacks" has become a very loose term lately and that shows the fact that racism at least towards North American ones is fading away, there is a huge difference between the Caribbean, African, and "local" in they way their life is played out in NA. In many places people cut more slack to black people just because they are black, and very often fear of the Hood Gangster is confused with racism, but it's a normal reaction to anyone subscribing to that name no matter the colour.

  • @wardogPC also consider this. even if the corporations and banks did the right thing for the people, and made right by the people they've hurt, blacks would still be at the bottom of the totem pole so to speak. While as a black person i might add, we hold our own selves back, I'm not the type to blame whites for all our problems, but it's still unfair. If the banks won't listen to the white OWS movement ( yes there is other races) what makes you think they will help out blacks?

  • @wardogPC that is very true. but think about it, the same principle went into affirmative action" there would be no need for black, disabled.etc. type scholarships if everyone was already getting the playing field was fair.

  • Dumb nigga
