Now at the feast he used to release for them one prisoner for whom they asked. And among the humanists in prison, who had committed murder in the insurrection, there was a man called Rob Bell... And he answered them, saying, "Do you want me to release for you Jesus?"... But the post-modern evangelicals stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Rob Bell instead... Pilate again said, "Then what shall I do with Jesus?" And they cried out again, "Crucify him."

Yea well, I'm not saved by my works, I'm saved by faith in Christ and His finished work. Jesus rebuked the pharisees because of their trust in their works. So I guess that pretty much blows that out of the water huh?

You said you are saved by YOUR faith.... if it is YOUR faith, that is something that you put forth into the equation and thus it becomes a "work".

Yet the scriptures tell us that Jesus is the author and finisher of OUR faith... so we can not even take credit for us having faith, it is all by God's favor... ie.. grace.

But nothing really matters if we have not true love for all people and for God... hence my point about the Pharisees who had the Law down pat, but had no love in them.

Peace

Yes, it is my faith. It is the faith that God has granted to me as a gift. Ya know like the faith of the woman with the issue of blood? Remeber, Jesus said "your faith has made you well."?

Of course the bible is clear that not ALL have faith, hence God does not grant this gift to everyone. Those who don't believe will perish.

Yep, those 1st century Old Covenant Jews that didn't have faith in THEIR Messiah did perish physically when Jerusalem and the temple (Matt 24) came crashing down at the hands of the Roman armies in AD 70...

The Bible may be clear based on what we have been taught for the last 2000 years, yet God's deepest truths remain hidden from the seminary trained teachers, but are shown to the humble who earnestly ask God to reveal the hidden truths within the scriptures.

God is the best teacher :)

No, the plain teachings are hidden from the carnal minded, unregenerates.

It's always the idiots from the universalist camp that "try" and twist and contort the scriptures to make the plain teachigs go away. But hey, have at it! Worship the god that is formed in your image.

And it's always the Fundies / self-righteous religious people that call anyone with an opposing view to be an idiot or of the devil...

Just like the Pharisees of old, having dead bones religion based on fear and anger....yet very little love, mercy, peace and the other fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Anyways, God bless you / take care.

No, you see the pharisees were not concerned with truth just like the stink of universalists.
