  • No traditional gongfu in China??? Sorry but that is just plain wrong!!

  • You're right. A year after making this trailer, the feature is finished, the title has changed and the line "traditional arts don't live in China anymore" has been removed.

  • Is this out on DVD? I'd really like to see it.

  • This film has just been completed and will be released sometime in 2008.

  • is that at Sibu?

I am mirian, how can i dont know thr is many kung fu master at sarawak?

  • We filmed in Sibu, Kuching and Bintulu. Good ear!

  • This is a very well put videos and I'd love to see the whole material, but I must tell you this:

Traditional martial arts are not dead in China, they are just very, very hard to find. It is my personal view on the subject (based on many years of direct contact with many different kinds of martial arts in China)that traditional martial arts for fighting are ALMOST dead in China, but not totally dead. There are still afew around.

  • I understand it all very well. Every time someone says "there's no real kung fu in China" they've told a lie. Lying is not wu de.

  • @rekcufeht due to high chinese population during that time, many chinese fled there. plus outside of china and taiwan, malaysia has the highest chinese population

  • @Gieszkanne many masters fled to malaysia too as malacca used to be a huge trading port.

  • @fallingleaveskungfu PRC cant bury this . it wasnt a china production

  • IMO I think kung fu in China was already degenerating even befor Mao & the Cultural Revolution. (With the exception of minor revolts) long peaceful dynasties and the restrictions made by various rulers against civilians training in martial arts brought alot of the degeneration. I would be more interested in martial arts from China's Warring States period.

  • @SOLPictures The TRUTH may ruffle some "feathers" (lol) but you shouldn't have backed down on that statement, it was pretty much on the money. Controversy is good business. Reality often shatters peoples preconceived notions. But it's still good you said it.

  • just bought my copy from amazon! w00t!

  • The film title has been changed to "Needle Through Brick" and is available NOW!

  • I laughed so hard at:

    Globalization, blablabla

  • I believe some of the comments made here is true.

Most people now do not know what traditional chinese martial arts is, so we do not understand what most of these people are talking about.

"... It's a TOTAL art form... It's a way of life... Studying kungfu is like learning. You will the experience slowly, you will gather the knowledge slowly and you will understand it slowly, then you can achieve greatness" Those who is going through the way, will understand.

  • Very interesting. I also think that its not totally dead in VR.Its not a secret anymore that true KF survived in Taiwan HK. Macau is not so popular but I think there its survived too. In Indonesia its known as Kuntao. And its interesting that some old school looks ab bit like some Silat.

But Malaysia is completely new to me.

1:05 Globalistion blablabla also meaning a loosing of cultural identity!!!
