  • No resistor? Just a switch and a battery-pack? Should be dead by now...

  • @AnselmoFanZero No - this is a HIGH current array, not simply a diode - an ARRAY OF DIODES. 808 diode arrays can handle the tiny current from two AA batteries without any issues at all. I'll bet you are thinking of single (red) or HD (405nm) diodes instead. Check out my online shop : shop.stonetek.org . No arrays there (yet) but plenty of other diodes, and parts for lasers ! Mention this video, and get 10% off - rebated once you purchase one or more diodes !

  • You gotta LOVE Ebay ! :-}

  • I thought about inflating the balloon - but I just wanted something black to sizzle and pop for the camera - so I left it as is !

    I know what a diode stack is. Loooot of chips, indium-solder etc. But you still have to limit the current somehow.

    BTW: I am not a fan of those bar-diodes. Burning on a specific distance depending on the lens you use...

  • Hello friend, don't I speak English, am I using a translator, did I buy a diode of 1000mw in the ebay, am I still waiting for the sending, do you think I get to extract 1,2A using only 2 piles AA? Thank you very much for the help. Edu

  • yupp I know :)

    Long time till i did the first experiments with my IR Laser waw.

    Good luck

  • u CAN but IR laser saftey goggles, you do know that right?

  • Cool!

    I have such a fibre coupled Laser too but I have not startet it because I'm afraid of damaging my eyes with this IR light.

    How have you protected your eyes ?

  • Prreetty cool and Prrreetty scary :)

  • 1.2 Watts coherent... Where the heck did you buy that?
