Sponsored by the Kent State Alumni Association, the DTA is the university's most prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching in the classroom and a devotion to touching the lives of students. Qualified nominees include Kent State tenure track faculty who are currently employed by the university.

The 2012 recipients are Cynthia Barb, Associate Professor of Mathematical Science, Don-John Dugas, Associate Professor of English and Alexander Seed, Associate Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry.

    I wish I would have known about this, Don-John was one of my absolute favorite teachers at Kent and this was just for an elective course. The things I learned from him still stick with me and his attitude and enthusiasm were infectious!
