@skrupnik You only lose on slow motion capture with the G10. Mpeg is a better editing format than AVCHD. I would suggest you avoid AVCHD unless you have a very powerful computer or don't mind converting all the files you produce with the camera.
@anzaeria you can ..set the mode dail to the picture of a video camera with a P next to ...then when you change the WB it will stay like that when you start to record ....in MOVIE P mode you can also change aperture and exposure compensation py clicking the mode dail
@OrbitProductionsLTD yes it does. 3.5 mm input on the left side, just above the opening for USB and mini HDMI outpuit, there is a small opening for mic. both openings are covered by a rubber "cover" if you know what i mean.
i don't know how to explain the object in english, i'm from sweden ;)
Can you manually white balance in the video mode on the G2? One review states that it is possible but the instruction manual says that it reverts to auto white balance when you select the video mode.
Hi, i´m trying to decide what to buy: G10 or G2. I only need it for Video feature. There is a huge difference in price. What I loss to only use Motion Jpeg format? Would you recommend me the G10? Thanks.. I will appreciate your help. Sebastian from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
@DannyVss NEX5 is a little toy camera with questionable ergonomics, a still small assortment of disproportionately larger lenses and a UI that required a major firmware upgrade/reworking to be functional, coupled with a good APS-C sensor. This is a far more flexible tool with features the NEX lacks (like full swivel screen, EVF and popup flash) mated to a slightly inferior sensor.
Only after trying each and comparing the photos can you really know which will be better for you.
@underpantswedgy That's why it has a basic mono mic built in. Like any truly serious HD video recorder, you'd want a detached stereo mic that's located a bit away from the lens. Speaking of lens, the basic kit isn't meant for intensive video use. There are quieter, better lenses for that.
