LMN J Music Top 50 Countdown: 2012.01.05 ~Chapitel 1~

Welcome to 2012. A new year of J-Music is about to begin.
So let's start in style, with a Top 50 Chart featuring 19 Debuts.

A lot of changes are now in effect for the LMN chart, so please read and understand the description below.

Before we delve into this any further, please follow the link below AFTER viewing the video to vote for your favorite songs that you want to see on the next chart, coming up on 2012.01.19

--- LMN 2012 System ---

First off, the past date restrictions and the elimination rules both no longer exist. Any song that was released prior to the Countdown date, regardless of whether or not it was on the countdown in the past, can make an appearance at anytime. As you'll see in the video, a total of four songs from the past are ranked within the Top 50.

However, a song is credited with "Weeks on Chart" only while the song remains in the Top 50. Once a song falls out of the Top 50, the "Weeks on Chart" count will no longer increase - even if the song returns to the Top 50.

The countdown length will vary throughout the year based on the number of debuts, anywhere from a Top 20 to a Top 50. The length will be determined based on the criteria below:
- 0~5 Debuts: Top 20
- 6~10 Debuts: Top 30
- 11~15 Debuts: Top 40
- 16+ Debuts: Top 50

On weeks where the countdown videos are shorter than the Top 50, the ranks through the Top 50 that were not covered in the video will be shown as a list on the LMN Blog (e.g. On a week with a Top 30 Countdown, ranks 31-50 will be posted on the LMN Blog for reference).

The chart will remain a "J Music" chart featuring both J-Pop and J-Rock.

--- 2012.01.05 ~Chapitel 1~ ---

To begin, let's talk K-On!!. It has been far too long since we were awarded the delightful honor of hearing a new gem by Houkago Tea Time. I still wish they would make a Season 3 complete with more music from HTT - the unit is just too good to end and so is the anime.

Next, Litchi Hikari Club MUST be addressed. The jazz intro is to die for, but the uniqueness here is so perpetual and addicting, it's bound to RISE in the coming weeks unless some other miraculous gems blow us away. And BORN....I cannot find enough words to highlight how amazing "ProudiA" is. I will officially declare this the best BORN song to date.

Lastly the Top 3 songs. No.3 is such a beautiful song - similar to the lead track off of the group's first single, but perhaps even better. The gap between no.2 and no.1 in terms of rank is close to none. I cannot even begin to describe how absolutely spectacular both of these songs are (...I've been listening to both at least five times a day since they've been released). no.2 may even overtake no.1 for the throne next week....it's like sweet seduction from heaven...I just can't get enough of either of these songs....

One last note just to be clear: this is the first WEEKLY chart of 2012 and has absolutely nothing to do with the Final 2011 Chart. The remaining sections of the Final 2011 will be completed over the next 1~4 weeks. The weekly chart is higher priority and I wanted to start 2012 on time.
