  • Bad sound. Bad video. Great song. The power of the song trumps everything.

  • He probably can't play it too often because it probably requires such strength to not start crying. Just hearing Sandy do it makes me teary.

  • @paigehuffman really really beautifuly put my friend, amongst all this crap about videoing and the slagging off of each other. I'm sure that's not what richard thompson or the wonderful and late sandy denny would have wanted. i absolutely love the the 10+ minute version of this song sung by sandy with richard on guitar played live- just sublime.

  • Are you aware that Richard Thompson laid all the creative, inventive, soulful guitar music around Sandy Denny's vocals on the Fairport version of this, I might add, the righteous Fairport version of this.

Richard has a right to play this song like few other.

I find it easy to hear past the bad sound. Nice version. Richard did a fantastic "Woodstock" with no preparation at Joni's tribute night.

  • lol, "illegally" moron......

  • I s ee youur command of the English language is as good as your illegal filming

  • Ok, here is how it played out....I was sitting in the Commodore in Vancouver, was enjoying the show....had a camera by chance in my bag, pulled it out for the hell of it and recorded this song: a) it is such poor quality that I am sure it will never compete with the Austin DVD, b) it might....just might interest someone in Thompson.....so take it easy douchebag

  • I loeve you billetc... Sure, I'm the best videographer as you named it, around. But please billetc..., please do not give such an importance to those who enjoy - and I am definitely one of them - responding to the huge mass of un-interesting videoposters'productions. Please...I beg you Please...Please billetc...

  • Seems you missed a point. We both agreed the song is beautiful---I obviously know who Richard Thompson is. My criticism was of your video which, I suspect, was illegaly made. Most shows people are told "no recordings or pictures". Best you should have just kept it to yourself, I hink your vanity is showing about believing you are a good videographer

  • OK it's a beautiful song. But either you don't know Richard Thompson ("the dimming of the day" to name a hit of him) or you are deliberately indulgent with the poor quality of the one who DARED to record the show in such bad conditions. Even the best song ever would sound that worst in those conditions. Shameful poster!
