Bro and I railfan Cajon Pass. 07:08 Train breaks in two (listen for the brakes coming on). Last scene is the break. Shot thru scrub from old Rte 66. 3 BNSF tracks for the Cajon climb. UP is a 4th track plus UP rights on BNSF. 14 miles of Class I RRing. 2%, plus curvature. San Bernardino, CA, is the foot of Cajon grade.

  • too much draft better get the knuckle hooks and replace it

  • @geomodelrailroader Yes. Something amiss with two pushers on the rear to control knuckle loading. Spare knuckles were kept in the caboose and the boxes under the tender. Today they sent a truck out to fix this.

  • @gjhgjh LOL knuckle breaking always happens putting too much draft,using helpers that ran out of water,and under powered units always cause them to break.
