This is my on the spot arrangement of "If You Could Hie To Kolob". There are some funky things in here. This is my favorite hymn. I'm going to make a great arrangement of it some day! So sorry. I was making it up to the melody as I was going along. haha sorry about the sound, you are probably going to have to turn it down towards the middle

  • Actually, we don't believe in the Trinity. The trinity refers to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost being one God. We believe in the Godhead; God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are three seperate people. God and Jesus Christ each have bodies of flesh and bones. The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit. If He was not, he would not be able to dwell in you.

Kolob is a star or planet mentioned in the Book of Abraham as being nearest to the throne or residence of God. We do believe in it.

  • i love this song! it's my favorite one.

do you have the sheet music with this arrangement, or with some arrangement?

    if you do

could you send it to me

    thanks!

  • I don't have any sheet music for this song at all actually. That book you see on the piano is the LDS Hymn Book. I was using it as reference for the melody and basic chord progression and making everything up. It's in a different key then the book also. I have had many requests for the sheet music to this arrangement. I think I will transcribe what I played and sell it. It will take some work though. I'll keep you posted!

  • What's Kolob?

  • Kolob is a term more widely used by people of the LDS religion. In LDS Theology, Kolob means "the first creation" and is the name of the star closest to the "residence of God." It is not God's actual residence.

We learn of Kolob from Abraham's account found in The Pearl of Great Price (another account of the Old Testament), one of the Standard Works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • @coolkourtney Trinity was never used until the days of Constantine, and they took many of the attributes of God and made a false god that they called the trinity

  • @chelseythebagel thats a scripture mastery for seminary this year found in doctrine & covenants!! i agree. the trinity (meaning three i believe) refers to the Godhead. of course we believe in it. if there was no Trinity. there would be no us. i love this song. iv been planning to make up my own arrangment and play it for my boyfriend for when he returns from his mission. its our favorite hymn. how long did it take you to do this?

  • i want to learn that song next on my list of hymns to learn!

  • And music originally composed by someone who wasn't Mormon. Wonder how much longer Vaughn-Williams will stay in the book until it is yanked and replaced by some lesser quality drivel written by an actual church member.

  • se nota k ella no toka la kancion!! iio si soy pianista no esto
