This is the second in my series on China - from my Oct 10 tour.
When you are on the Yangtze river cruise, you take a side tour everyday. They are all very interesting. This side tour is cruising the Shennong Stream - a side canyon that you take from the town of Badong (Hubei Province of central China). First you get off from your large cruise ship to second (smaller) tour boat, and then when you reach the mouth of the canyon, you again get in to another smaller boats called 'peabody' boat.
The reason I want to post this is because of the people - the tour guide and the boatmen - who make the trip wonderful. There is no question that the scenary is outstanding, but it the people and their culture that struck me. You will see our guide and the boatman actually sing for us - where do you get that kind of entertainment ?
I am sure you will enjoy. Enter a comment.

  • A great video of the 'peapods,' tour guides and oarsmen. Your narrative is informative; likewise the music is appropriate (did it come from their CD?).

  • great and beautiful place
