How To Combine Skype With Camtwist (Mac)

ya, most of you have probably heard of these applications

but a viewer asked me how soldier knows best puts words and stuff onto his ustream, i mentioned camtwist

so i decided to make a tutorial for skype , so ya

Hey when I try opening skype, there is no option for camtwist.

it says used by another application.

if you're on mac, make sure all your apps are closed, if you're on PC, I can't help you

Uhm when I do both the changes to the system preferences I don't get an option to change (on skype) to camtwist. It just says Built-in Isight

@SupertyphoonTom Because it says don't load the CamTwist camera in these applications. Then you drag apps that you don't want there. This option allows it for all applications.

Okay folks ... as I just mentioned ... the trick is that you need to use an older version of Skype. The newer version is almost as though it's proprietary and does not like third party software. Download V2.8 of Skype and it works wonderful! Also works great with "ManyCam" which is also a neat program.

When (in Skype) I select CamTwist for my camera, and it does accept it, all I get is a still pic of myself, I do not get a live feed from my iSight Cam.

It worked! But the catch is that you cannot use CamTwist or any other third party web cam software with the latest version of Skype. You have to use an older version of Skype. V2.8 works great! Thanks for your help!!

I figured it out. CamTwist does NOT work with the latest version of Skype...just downloaded V2.8 and it works like a charm! Awesome!!! Thank you!
