In this second video watch as we transport several 4' x 10' rectangular raised beds to our strawberry patch and put them in position. Once in position we add new soil, compost, and peatmoss. Then we begin to uproot our old strawberry plants and plant them in their new home.

  • Thanks for subscribing and your comment. We too have good soil but just needed more for the beds. We are using the plain soil from Home Depot and Scott’s Humus/Manure. There always seems to be some weed seeds even in bagged soil, but just a few. So far this has worked well for us. We are already looking forward to next year’s crop.

  • We are spoiled here in Nebraska with beautiful black soil wherever I dig. I have always had problems finding GOOD bagged garden soil and compost...either it is poor quality or poor consistancy between bags. I add bags and work with it for several years to make it usable. So I truck in topsoil dug from the area but then struggle to get all of the pasture weed seeds out of the soil before they multiple and migrate to other areas. Can you share what you chose to use?
