A straight wire carries an electric current symbolized by several little red spheres in motion (they move in the direction of conventional current, they are not electrons). Circular magnetic field lines are shown around the wire. More physics videos at http://bestphysicsvideos.blogspot.com/

Un fil rectiligne est parcouru par un courant électrique représenté par des petites sphères rouges en mouvement (elle se déplacent dans le sens du courant conventionnel: ce ne sont pas des électrons). Des lignes de champ magnétique circulaires entourent le fil.

  • I know this as the "right hand rule" just lift your thumb of your right hand, and thats it.

    Your thumb represents the current and the others fingers are the magnetic field.
