What's the cost difference between reloading the .300 with spent and or unfired brass versus buying bulk from a dealer online or local? I can see the benefits of reloading if your looking for a specific charge but other than that does the cost savings really off set the time spent?

It really depends. "Match grade" ammo is just about a dollar a round for 300 AAC Blackout these days, but if you load your own you're talking about $0.30 a round approximately. On the other hand, if you don't really care that much about accuracy and cheap ammo is good enough, it might not make sense for you. Hence why I still buy bulk 300 BLK ammo for practice.

I like how at 07:02 you drop the brass on its side and it ends upright... that's pro

Very informative and good tips for saving money on reloading and general how to's. Only problem is comparing the 5.56*45mm round to a .22 is like comparing a leopard to a house cat, I.e. there is no comparison.

I love "The Truth About Guns", I bring up "Truth"(what I call it) all the time. I know a very small amount about reloading but I do know something about it, that is: You don't use your GRANDPARENTS TV TRAY to do it! But I gotta admit I do the same thing for my computer monitor, in fact I'm watching you work on your TV Tray from my TV Tray! I guess we both think the same, out of the lack of ROOM in our ROOMS. Thanks for the great info. Keep it up, your doing fine work on this site!

I would suggest the Harbor Freight 2" Bench Top Cut-Off Saw, for $28.00. You cut the majority off with it, then cleanup and fine tune the length with your case trimmer.

Do I need to use the trimmer to cut it all the way down to the neck or do you recommend cutting with a small saw first?

Hi J Wilson, you don't assemble one bullet at a time, you deprime/resize x amount of brass, prime x amount of brass, fill with your h110, then press your bullet into the brass. All in all, it takes 30 seconds to do 1 round. 2 rounds a minute ain't bad at all.

You would save a lot of time and ware on your trimmer if you would just pre cut the 5.56 case behind the shoulder then trim to the proper OAL.
