I agree with boy terry......The rhythm is wrong 50 %....what is that? B Terry says ".Musicians are free to have their own interpretation of any song" ..... exactly ! I love the way this is being played ..beautiful !

Jean this is not a transcription per se.. This is his response to oscar peterson's olk folks..So he can it at any tempo or rythm he wishes..Musicians are free to have their own interpretation of any song..What would you have him do? Play it exactly like oscar peterson?? then where would the creativity part be if he was a direct copy of oscar??
So I suggest that beginners learn this version first and get the chord progression down pack before attempting to play like the master
-
Playful masterful, selfglorifying, but does it warm anybodies heart??

psh.. "you're a NICE pianist"
UNDERSTATEMENT of the year. You're amazing. I love your videos. thankyou so much for putting them up. :] *jealous* haha
doug, you're a nice pianist.
but this transcription is really crappy. I advise beginners NOT to learn it.
The rhythm is wrong 5Oper cent. it's just what the computer quantize when doug play in a midi keyboard.
Use this transcription to take some ideas, voicings, and links.
For the rhythm, listen cd and feel the groove!

A disclaimer: Remember that these transcriptions are not 100% accurate. I go through them to get most of the treble/bass split more or less correct, but note timing and values need adjustment by referring to the video. As you know, the subtle pushing ahead or lagging behind the beat in jazz can often confuse the less-than-intelligent computer brain!
I really just intended these as an additional source of information - along with the video, piano view, chord symbols and the added comments.

The first chorus is played freely - sometimes I try to correct this, bringing the notes into line with bars - but this is difficult to do and even less accurate.
So again, I want to make it clear that these 'transcriptions' need to be regarded as an extra source of information along with the audio, piano view, chords and comments. As you say, if accuracy is your concern, then they are less than perfect - but in jazz this is less of a concern than searching for and finding new musical ideas.
