  • with those tiny wheels, a small crack in the road might send you flying off the bike.

  • @PiranhaJaw22 following my riding experiences, you can see the small cracks on the road :P

  • I think I might actually get one. Uncle Clive is a bona fide genius, his problem is that he's too ahead of his time. He invented electric bikes decades before the market was ready for them - in fact in the UK modern electric bikes all conform, by law, to the Sinclair C5's specifications.

  • Good choice for your health and our future ;)

  • Attention everyone !!

A-bike Central will have the first A-bike meeting in London with Sir Clive Sinclair !!

    > Date: Sat. 28th July

    > Time: 12:00 (Noon)

    > Venue: in front of the National Gallery @ Trafalger Square.

We will go on a picnic with A-bike inventor Sir Clive Sinclair and the chief designer Mr. Alexander Kalogroulis at St. James's park. Wine and refreshments will be provided by Mayhem UK.

Please come to the A-bike Central and note you are coming on its forum.

  • Hello simon ^^;

I think the A-bike is suitable for a daily short ride.

For a long journey, some modification would be required.

You can find various useful information on the 'A-bike Central', forum or news pages.

  • I rode mine down the street and fell in love. Then I needed to actually 'go somewhere' further than my block -- 20 blocks away. On the A-Bike, I was worn out at about 3-5 blocks and grabbed a cab! I'm in shape, but it encouraged me to just get a functional bike (Brompton).

  • I saw one on eBay and it looked almost unridable!

  • @GranulatedStuff Hard period! He couldn't even jump that sidewalk

  • I reckon this is very hard to ride uphill !

  • fox shox full suspension and an electric wheel please. then it would be ok

  • Probably because STRiDA existed back then already, which is strikingly similar, yet has one folding less (twice as large folded), and has larger wheels. I recall around 20 years is the maximum time a patent may be maintained in most countries, so perhaps he was waiting for it to run out.

  • A bicycle one can take as hand-luggage on an aeroplane. We likes that.
