Working (electronic) V8 engine made from Lego Technic. This is not a Lego set, but I completely designed and build it myself. There is about 300 hours of work in this model. Enjoy!
For pictures and building instructions check out this link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=276743
Look at the readme icon for more information about the build.
For the parts list made by Blakbird. This parts list isn't completely accurate. It is the parts list of my V8 build by Blakbird and he has made some modifications.
Parts can be bought on www.bricklink.com, calling Lego-service or via Lego Pick a Brick on http://shop.lego.com

I ust point out that some yellow parts are very difficult to get right now. Unless you own of want to buy set 8457 Technic Power Puller, you can make it in yellow, otherwish you have to build one in red or light gray.

  • Does anybody know the part number of the little rubber band things that hold the valves closed? I'm using the parts list/instructions on Brick Shelf to build one of these, but the rubber band thingies aren't listed :(

  • @TDIpowerification Look at bricklink at rubber band and belt, part x89 rubber band 4x4.

  • do you have to oil the pistons ?or do any typs of lubs

  • @atvking04032 At first I didn't, but every event a had to service the V8, because is was making sounds it shouldn't do. Last year I used teflon spray and that works great, because is not sticky.

  • loving the electric ignition!

  • 300 hours...hell man!! I would have built a real one and the car to go with it!!! Neat work though.

  • awsome!

  • @HackoDis The yellow wheel on the black control panel adjusts the speed.

A car at the same scale would be beyond the limits of LEGO construction.

  • @xAAxCoombs Well, the crankcase has big holes so you can see the pistons working, so not really...

  • How is called the remote control which allows to light(to switch on) him?

  • lets see some dyno numbers

  • Any feasible way to make this run on Nitro (GloFuel) instead of being electric?

  • Wow that's incredible several questions. is it just one speed? Could you list all the parts i would love to build me one. A v10 would be sweet.

You Could you put into a Lego car and use it as a Lego RC car That would be awesome :D
