This is my sixth WIP video for the chaos game engine. This video demonstrates the implementation, And working of basic physics. It uses the NxOgre wrapper, Which uses the PhysX API. It also shows buoyancy.

  • how long did it take to make it

  • I started the project at the beginning of january, And this video is from end of march, so at the point of this video it was 4 months.

  • so when is this game finished sounds really up my street.

  • I estimate about 1 and a half years as it stands.

  • The graphics are great!

    What was this made with?

    (C++?)

    (Directx?)

  • The engine will be used for a game much like Age of Pirates, Except with a concerntration on epic naval battles. So each cannon will be a physics object, controlled by the nvidia physx engine, Giving the effect of them "blowing to peices" when hit. Also you will command your ship entirely from a first person perspective, Starting as a crewman, making your way up to capitain, and eventualy buying newer ships. If you subscribe you will instantly receive any updates on this game.

    Cheers

  • nice!

  • Thanks XD. The weird sound problem has been solved now, It will be shown in the next video i do, Along with alot of other additions.

  • Sweetness!

  • Thanks dude! The language im using is C++, Im using the Ogre3d rendering engine. The water is rendered using the Hydrax for Ogre3d api (so sadly you cant credit me on the amazing water graphics :(). What im doing is putting together an engine, For a super realistic 18th century naval game. Ive intergraded a sky system with the water system, So it all blends nicely. About 1 month ago i intergrated the physx system, And currently im getting scripted entities working (for great moddability)

    Cheers
