troy state university sound of the south marching band version of dixie played at all home football games. both sides of the bleachers stood up in reverence. remember,troy is only about 40 miles from montgomery,the cradle of the confederacy.
That is the only fight song that I knew the five years I went to Troy. If I were to travel up there for a game, the current fight song means nothing to me and I have no idea what it sounds like. Man would I love to go to a game and hear that played again, especially after the band made their famous run onto the field!!!
I wish we were still allowed to play it that way. Dixie was awesome. I think if we ever play Jax State again, we aught to whip it out just to make them mad.

I loved playing DIxie until we quit in 1992. I was there and have th t-shirts.
