Your rant makes sense. But here's the thing.... love comes when you are least expecting it, it's true. The internet is fabulous, but I don't think you need to pay for an online dating service. I met my love --- who lives in another country, haha --- through friends of friends of friends (haha) on Facebook. Dating sites like Match.com, eHarmony, and the like, seem inherently flawed, and really more suited to people seeking sex than serious relationships. Despite the compelling advertisements.

@sincerelyCMB I agree w/you but I was out of a LTR and wanted to get back into the dating scene just wasn't sure how so I figured WTH! I actually met my fiance on Twitter believe it or not lol So I've been happily taken for over a year now and not on Match. But its a learning experience one I will soon not forget. I grew up Catholic and I was taught that god loves everyone, yes he says that a man shall not lie with a man, and a women shall not lie with a women (NOT a direct qoute!) But for real, people take this way out of context. @ECapuano04 The thing about sites like this is that you can meet a lot of people fairly quickly. Yeah, you don't need to use a site like match.com to do that, but generally the more people you meet the more likely it is you're going to find someone compatible. The downside is you have to be prepared that with greater quantity comes a drop in overall quality.

I have one issue with this blog : isn't being ready or not ready to date controllable by defining what kind of relationship you're looking for? If your profile says 'looking for chat/email correspondance' then you're basically advertising the fact you're not ready to date. I think you should've instead be telling people to fill their profiles out more carefully and not show interest in offline meetings. Online dating is sometimes the only way some people gain any social self confidence.
