To stir up religious hatred against Muslims. Just like the Muslims are doing with Gadaffi by making caricatures of him with the star of David somewhere to make him appear Jewish.

Videos like this are a shot in the foot for all the arrogant evangelists who say Christianity is better than Islam.

There is tons of video of this and similar events in Egypt. The Christians there are a tiny minority. Most of the time they do not publicize events like this for fear of inflaming Muslim hatred. At this point they are so desperate they are trying to get the world to see what is taking place. Look up the person in the interview. Check the facts yourself. I have lots more video of Copt horror I have not yet titled.

Type "Kenya, homosexuality" into the search box on BBC News website. Look at the first result, titled "Gay pride and prejudice in Kenya".

The section 'Religions United' is quite interesting. And before you say anything, yes, the pastor says gays shouldn't be killed, but that doesn't change the fact he is (like the Muslims) using his dogmatic faith to justify discrimination.

It's just a slightly less brutal version of the same thing. Discrimination and denial of equal treatment because of religious beliefs.

Perhaps it doesn't, but nevertheless, atrocities have been commited in the name of the Cross. The Crusades, the Inquisition, centuries-old anti-semitism, genocide of the New World civilisations, slavery, etc.

monarchy, oligarchy and timocracy. Secularism (in Europe) is widely attributed to the Enlightenment, when reason was being seen advocated as a superior primary source for authority than religion. Tell me, if this came about because of christian values and beliefs, why did it take so long to occur considering Christians controlled the vast majority of Europe for such a long time?

As for rule of law being Christian (lol), try looking at Rome or Greece, or even China...

Christian nations are I think just as bad as Islamic nations. Maybe not now, but they have been in the past. Sure, they've cleaned up their act, but this is because of secularism: ie. the refusal to allow discrimination on the grounds of a person's superstitious beliefs.

And you have a really limited view of history if you think secularism, democracy and rule of law are thanks to Christianity. The Greeks, pioneered democracy as a system of governance. Plato compares it to...

If you honestly look at North America and Europe and come to the conclusion that those Christian nations are as barbaric and savage as Islamic nations (at least 10 of which consider apostasy a capital crime and many of which limit sentences for parents who kill there kids or husbands who kill their wives) then you are braindead. Secularism, democracy, rule of law, sep. of church/state, were all borne of Christian societies and Christian ethics. They have no equivalent elsewhere.

Secularism has flourished in the West and has pushed religion (for the most part) out of reach of the state. Even so, in America a man who believes in a certain fairy story found in the book of Genesis is much more likely to get elected to office than a rocket scientist who does not, which is a crying shame.

If secularism gripped the Muslim world and forced sharia and the clerics who practice it to the periphery of politics, would that suggest an underlying beneficence in Islam?...
