  • Where did you get your floats and how did you install them

  • I purchased the floats from Art's Hobby in Skowhegan, Me. Art builds his own floats and many of our group use them. He also installed them for me.

  • Very true, crash...

You will still need two servos so you can set up the separate aileron servos and then the flaps and of course the floats. Since I had everything I needed except the ARF & floats, that was the best deal for me. And I sure don't need any radio that comes with it. And I specifically wanted four stroke. I notice the prices are up a bit but this makes a nice float plane with the mods I added - remove half of the dihedral and add a ventral fin.

  • how much do those planes cost? awesome video!

  • The plane costs $100 then you have to add the engine, electronics, and floats.

    The floats I used were about $50, 5 servos @ $13.00, AR7000 receiver @ $80, battery at $24.

The engine I used was an OS 52 FS but it is no longer made but any good ball bearing 46 size two stroke would work for between $85 and $130.

  • do you have a phone number for arts hobby or an email address? I would like to get some of those floats for my nexstar. Thank

  • Sweet plane

  • You are so right. I wanted to get a Nextstar for my son (he ended up soloing at 10 years old and he is 12 now!) but I didn't want to buy the ready to fly version. So I got a good computer radio for him and a Thunder tiger pro 46 and the $100 arf for a lot cheaper than the ready to fly version and got a lot better quality stuff! I have put his nextstar on floats too and it flys great. I will have to do the flap thing like you did also when I fly off the water again though.

    great flight!

  • IS THAT IN YOUR FARM?

    COOL!!!

  • Very nice. This what I plan on doing with my Nexstar when I get my next plane.

  • Very nice, cool! :D
