Ron Hextall Career Highlights Music Video

This video was never part of the show, but here at Generation X Live! we love hockey and the violence that comes with it. Nobody did them both better than Ron Hextall. He was probably the most complete goaltender ever to play. From stopping the puck, to his handling of it, so scoring to intimidating the opposing players, and probably being the first goalie to cause teams to change their game plans to keep the puck away from him. To this day we miss his presence in the crease and the music he made on the pipes. This is my little tribute to him. Thanks for the memories Ron!

The song used is "Come With Me" by Puff Daddy (with Jimmy Page on Guitar) from the Godzilla Soundtrack.

The music was not picked because the artist somehow went well with Ron Hextall but because the lyrics and attitude of the song went well with Ron Hextall. As hard as it might be, watch it again and listen to the lyrics and you might see my motivation. I am not a Puffy fan and AM a huge Led Zep fan but I just felt this song worked. Over 1 million hits tells me it works as well. : )

I disagree that had anything to do with it. He was clearly fearless and a bit nuts. Not only did he continue to engage people before and after both of those guys were on the team but he went AFTER Berube while he as on the Caps seen at 2:52. Rarely did he show hesitation to go after anyone or back away waiting for help to arrive when he did.

Given that this is the only Hextall video with that many hits tells me that it is the combination of the song and the video. Not just the video. Otherwise every Hextall video would have that many hits. Like it or not, the song fits.
