personally i can barley tell the differents from 720p and 1080p

Really not much different, they're both considered HD, but 1080 is just a higher resolution than 720. Also, any 21+ inch computer monitor should be able to do 1080 and higher. Restricting 1080 on TVs to large screens really doesn't make much sense.
