Complicated Answer: You would have to use the heel-and-toe technique with your left foot, braking and depressing the clutch at the same time, while blipping the throttle with the right. Not only would you have to control the brake and the throttle with the same foot, you would also have to be very gentle with the throttle on your right. It would be very easy to overrev the engine and kill the transmission using such a method, hence right-foot braking.
GPL has Auto-clutch anyway, so you'll never need to push any pedal or button in that sim...actually, it's a pity ^^

Hmm, the only real way to heal and toe is with the right foot, brake/accelerator.

Correction: use the clutch and the brake with the same foot, not the brake and throttle. One more thing...
