The Ps3 startup was alot better than the Ps3 Slim startup. They should've never changed it...
Furthermore, the Playstation 1 startup beats them both!

@dodgecoronet68 Like you said its so they can sell you the games again. I have the 80gb fat model (that doesn't play them either) Personally though I think they can shove it. I'll just use my ps2 to play ps2 games. The slim is so small it doesn't take up any space under the tv anyway. Especially considering some real gems cost less than £1 now off sites like amazon and play.com. Very few are more than £5, apart from some of the real rare ones.
