I guess it's partly because he needs the score. Actually his range is fine but he doesn't sing through the music, with legato. I'd like more roundness and volume too.

Der Typ singt so langweilig, daß er allenfalls zum Nachrichtensprecher taugt.
Interpretation ist etwas anderes!

What are you talking about? This fellow does a grand job with a difficult piece. Yes, Fischer-Dieskau is not of this world....and I love his voice....but don't discount this fellow Suaste....

Tough luck for this singer. Range and breath issues, little passion. Fischer-Dieskau definitly lives on another planet.

Muito boa orquestra, soa com muita propriedade, o que não é fácil, a leitura subjetiva da mesagem musical, com todo o seu "pathos" caracterísitco do gênio germânico, nos dias atuais acima de tudo, é mesmo formidável.
Parabéns OSEM, tem tudo para brilhar no cenário mundial.

Maestro Woods handles the changes in tempo beautifully. Jesus sings with compelling sincerity and restraint. Beautiful double reeds and french horn. Thank you so much for posting.
