Thanx for posting tutorials, I don't know how I would of managed without them! After watching this tutorial I designed a character in photoshop saving all the limbs on separate layers. I imported the file into toon boom, I Arranged the layers in the correct hierarchy, hand inside lower arm, lower arm inside upper arm, upper arm inside torso etc. When I arrange the layers all the limbs seem to resize themselves becoming much smaller! Have you encountered this problem, is there away around this?

Thank good ness for these tutorials!!!!! Unfortunately I purchased TB5 over the net and TB need to take heed that from the forums one thing shines out loud and clear . . . . . . . You make life very difficult for anyone trying to learn your damned software!!!!
I don't know about anyone else here but the frustration sometimes makes me want to launch my entire system out of the window due to the fact the creators of TB obviously assume that everyone is familiar with their software already .

@jupiter457 I was originally planning to but at the moment no. With out giving out to much info though I just started working on an iPhone/itouch app that will be free and toon boom specific. I hope to announce everything about this app late winter and will be a lot more iPhone friendly than the tutorials (I hope). Thanks for the positive feedback.

I am really glad you are doing these videos again. Will you be putting these on Itunes?
I have watched some of your earlier ones on the ipod during, my morning commute, about ten times.
Hey, how do I take a drawing from toon boom and put it into photoshop? Or convert it to a psd? Thanks!

@chronichedgehog the only way that I can think of is to export the movie as a .png. This will be done in export movie settings. from there you can import it into photoshop as a .png. Just incase you don't know the image will be flat. You could also try exporting it as a flv but I'm not sure if photoshop reads flv. Sorry but thats the best thing that I can think of.

I'm having some trouble with import preferences. I have toon boom 4.0 and when I import a file it doesnt give me the option to preserve layers or size..I cant find and preference option to enable the dialog box. Pleas help!

@juli0jacky Hi! I quickly looked at the tbs v4.0 manual since its been a couple years since I used 4.0. Unfortunately I'm not sure if you can with this version since it did not mention anything. I Might have a back up of toon boom 4.0 and if I do I will load it and see if I can achieve this with with this version. If I don't get back by wed oct27 email me personally to remind me because I do tend to forget because of the stacks of animation projects in front of me.

For your drawings do you use a mouse or something like a wacom pen tablet?
HaloGeek454 1 year ago
@HaloGeek454 Yes I use a wacom intuos (sp) tablet for the tutorials. When I'm not working on the tutorials I use a cintiq and it has saved my life! If you are looking for a tablet and want to save money the bamboo is a great tablet to start off with. I started out with a small tablet and realized size matters... Well makes life easier. so I just wanted to mention that incase you or anyone else is thinking about getting a tablet.
