I remember the Carousel Mall when it was named the Central City Mall. Back in the 70's it was the place to be. The whole place was filled. There was a JC Penneys , Montgomery Wards, Woolworths, and Harris's department stores. Several restaurants, jewelers, photographers, and gift shops too. During Christmas there was a police officer directing traffic in and out of the parking lot. Many of my friends got their first jobs at this Mall. Things sure have changed.

These other posters are right: Central City Mall had one of the worst crime rates in the 80's and 90's. Lots of gangs hang out either outside or inside the mall back then. And what are you doing at night? Dancing like a fool at the old Montgomery Ward turf! DANGEROUS! Do us a favor and drift your car at the old May Company territory at the Inland Center, PLEASE???
