The Weepies - Hideaway

I created this for the Weepies Hideaway music video contest. The video shows a world made out of fabric for the band to travel through via the back of whale made out of old blue jeans . They encounter quilt stars, carpet planets, cotton clouds, and plaid penguins during the journey. I made all the visuals. The music is the song Hideaway by the Weepies.

It's very impressive animation, but I can see why it wasn't picked. The combination of the lack of expression on the faces, and the fact that there's no real narrative (nothing really HAPPENS) was the weakness.

The same animation technique, with a progression like that, would be unbeatable if you did it for some future contest (although you need to also create faces as I said before, and you need to have different angles--including close-ups on those faces).

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I agree with your comments, especially the lack of narrative. The next animation I make in this style I will definitely improve on some of those weak points.

I see what people have said about needing more variety and some different angles or more camera movement but this is still pretty sweet.

this is so awesome!!!! I love this! I think the people should have had faces and there should have been something that happen or just more excitement? I agree with the other people, alothough idt this should have been the winner i think it should have been one of the fianlists
