Mack, you can't refute the evidence, so you fall back on that? Look, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but your opinion should not be the basis for public policy when it is not supported by evidence. The fact remains that gay and lesbian couples are going to have children whether you like it or not, and it's better for those children to have legally married parents so they can have the same protections and benefits as children of heterosexual couples.

"Results of research to date suggest that children of lesbian and gay parents have positive relationships with peers and that their relationships with adults of both sexes are also satisfactory. The picture of lesbian mothers' children that emerges is one of general engagement in social life with peers, with fathers, with grandparents, and with mothers' adult friends-both male and female, both heterosexual and homosexual.

There is PLENTY of evidence that says the opposit.

Not a single study has found children of lesbian or gay parents to be disadvantaged in any significant respect relative to children of heterosexual parents.

Mack, no, there is no evidence to the contrary. There have been many, many dozens of studies conducted on children of gay parents since the 1970s, and they *all* show that there is no harm or disadvantage whatsoever. Google "APA gay parents" for details.

And there is plenty of evidence to otherwise too,aswell as common sence tells you oyherwise.We both know studies can be made to show what ever the person doing the study pretty much wants.

Mack, that's your opinion. There's plenty of evidence that gay couples are just as capable of providing an ideal home as straight couples. The quality of a person's parenting doesn't depend on their sexual orientation. It has to do with their love and commitment and dedication to the child. Studies have shown that children raised by gay and lesbian parents turn out just as well as children raised by straight parents, so I'd say it's certainly a comparable situation.
