Modesty at Mass

A video I made on Modesty at Mass. Teenagers today have no respect for Our Lord in the Eucharist at Mass, they appear in skimpy dresses or baggy shorts, singlets and thongs!! God our Father deserves the respect of todays teenagers to dress appropriately at Mass. Which means dresses to the knee, sleeves and no low necks! This also implies to guys: pants, shirts and ties!! I personally cover from throat to wrist to ankle and cover my hair with a mantilla at mass, but one of the things I don't want to do is start nitpicking on other women. Instead of turning up my nose at their exposed ________, I'd rather that we just kept talking. There's a real peace and joy when I'm covered up all the way - I feel protected in my own little bubble, free to worship. As for makeup and hair and all that, I think it's up to everyone to discern what is well-groomed but not vain.

Nice vid. Modesty is important, both in Church (or Mosques) and outside of it. God is not confined to places of worship.

Christianity used to emphasize modesty (especially for women) to a similar extent as Muslims do today.

It is troubling seeing the way many people dress for Mass, men and women, It's the Sacrifice of the Mass, not a football game or a Saturday night out. It's the time to honor God, and receive his Body and Blood. People should dress with modesty and dignity. Remember where you're going before putting on that skimpy dress or football jersey!

I don't think Christa-Taylor is in business anymore. And Shabby Apple is just too expensive for me. :( Love these dresses though, wish stores sold similar ones. Anyone know where I can find affordable vintage modest dresses?

@xtoc422 I don't know where you live but where our family lives they have the traditional Latin Mass. The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter offers the Mass. If you Google search "FSSP" or "Latin Mass" and look you may have one in your area. At the Latin Mass the Men where dress clothes and ties and the ladies where loose fitting long dresses that go below the knee while sitting. The FSSP is in full communion with the Pope and the local Bishops. They were given the Popes blessing in 1988.

@PioKolby Tell me about it. At Mass on Sunday 6/12, even my nine year old couldn't believe the way one teenager showed up...........short tight skirt and sleeve less shirt showing some cleavage. The worst part about it is that the priests never say anything.
