Hillside SPCA was called to a house where 2 dogs were being neglected. This is why we are so against chaining dogs out - what you see in the video is basically what these dogs had 24 hours a day. The Rottie had actually bitten 2 children when he escaped from his chain, probably because he was so unsocialized and bored from living in a 5 foot area for years. • what a bs... i see noindication here for abuse, cruelty oder neglecting these dogs... there are two dogs leashed, simply barking, and once offered food they would gulp it... stupid plot here

  • We had received several complaints about these dogs, and when we went to check it out we found skinny dogs showing signs of neglect. The puppy was so tangled that it was obvious she hadn't been like that for only one day. There was garbage all over the yard, & neither dog had food, water, or shelter. That, according to state law, indicates abuse. Not to mention that the Rottie had bitten more than one person, probably due to boredom and lack of socialization from being chained out all the time.

  • i know it is great what is happening to sad abused animals, but I think that this is a reenactment. If you listen to the barking and look at the animals mouth, you see NO movement. I could be wrong, but i don't know.

  • A 'reenactment'? The reason you hear a dog barking while the Rottie's mouth is not moving is because there was a dog in the next yard that was barking at us. The Rottie did bark once or twice, the reason you don't see that on this video is because he only did it when I would go to walk away. As long as he knew I was looking at him, he didn't bark. He did unfortunately have to be put to sleep because he was people aggressive and had bitten more than one person before coming to the SPCA.

  • Good job saving the Shepherd. Sad to hear about the Rottie. The bad behaviour could've been prevented from the early stages. The key word is socialization!

  • That's what we're always trying to teach people - that leaving a dog out on a chain for its entire life is just asking for trouble, not to mention the neglect and loneliness the dog feels. Dogs aren't lawn ornaments, they're living, feeling creatures that need love and socialization and deserve much better treatment than they often get. Thanks!

  • I want to tie those people outside and forget about them! And to all those people saying that white shepherd isn't skinny, OMFLord you have no clue what you are talking about that dog is skinnnnnnnny 1:26 is unacceptable! I would never treat my Raiden like that! Thank-you who ever you are for rescuing these animals!

  • sorry but those dogs don't seem abused. The white shepherd doesn't seem skinny at all. My dog for example is always hungry and gets crazy when I give him a treat. As for the chain most of the dogs in the world are chained up or leaving in small places. That's reality. People that say wow a dog in chain how cruel, look stupid in my opinion.

  • I love people like this because they help the animals thanks for doing that God bless

  • so angry at the owners they wouldnt like it if they were dogs and was abused an couldnt speak out u should have an animal test to see if u deserve a pet u should get a 97 or higher or else no pet for you

  • im really surprised that people dont see a problem with this video. that people actually are annoyed that you guys helped these two dogs get out of a bad predicament. people need to realize that neglect can be just as brutal as being beaten or burned. people, please go do some research on what neglect can fatally look like.

  • Poor digs. They are pack animals and need to live with their owners or at least other dogs.

  • and what about the rottie?

  • That's sad, bro.
