no it's becacuse swinging ur hands help with spin kicks and other kicks. Also theres no point to keep ur hands up cause they can't punch u in the head only kick which u will see from a mile away.

it's more geared toward kicking.. but there are punches.. however in sparring (1 vs1), punches don't have any point values.

A question and it is probably a stupid one:
Is Taekwondo 100% kicking, or can you use punches, blocks and throws as well?

Actually most kicks in TKD are really fast and are made specially for that not to happen. Any experienced TKD fighter can easily throw another kick to the head while his other kick is blocked.

Actually, any fighter with any experience knows that you can block swinging or circular kicks really easily without hurting yourself. Linear kicks no, you want to move. But if you jam a leg while it's in motion, it has no power, no followthrough, and typically the person kicking falls down. But for some reason people in TKD haven't figured this out...

I'm no expert, my friend is though. I do Tae Kwon Do, but the reason why they leave themselves open is so that their oponent sees the target and tries to dive in to kick it, since most points are scored with counters anyway.

When sparring you dont really want to be blocking more like move out of the way. 1. blocking a kick like that hurts 2. can take you off blalance and leave you open 3. if you move its easier to counter there kicks rather than blocking and trying to counter.
i just can understand taekwondo WHY NOT LOW KICKS there are one of the most effective
