@jackhillbilly i am a firefighter trained in in water ice rescue, i spend alot of time in the winter months pulling morons like this out of frozen ponds and lakes. stupidity is not the same as guts!

Riding on that slush was a real bitch. The ass end of the bike wants to keep sliding out from under you. If there's a layer of crusty snow on the ice though, it's about like riding down a dirt road - not bad at all.

It varies from year to year. Last Winter it was warm enough that it wasn't safe to drive on. Some winters it has gotten 24" thick, just depends on cold spells.
