@colsaddy uppon returning the machine , they agreed with me and appoligized , the "teeth" were all eaten up from the prev uses and they didnt know and let it out again . i started the jon on some thinset @ my front door with 6 teeth , as instructed, and then tried to feather in with the 12 , but i was just making the issue worse, so i stopped before it went to far. my reciept says " equip ruined floor" , so i cant be that off . machine im sure wasnt the issue now. but this is horrible .
'Teeth' eat floors that is the purpose, for a sanding effect you would need more tools of a finer grit diamond not a PCD (teeth). Having worked with United tool myself are you sure they understood what you wanted as a final result? Using diamonds not PCDs you can bring the floor back and clean it up if you are set on the finish you wanted in the first place,......i get excited every time i get my PG280 out, it is a beast!!
i just rented this machine and am completely destroyed by what it did to my floor. in part its the rental compaies( united tool) fault i guess , i was told with the 12 teeth it would have a sanding effect, im soon to do ( well was going to now cant , floors so marred up ) an acid stain job on my first home. well the "sanding"effect is non existant and the teeth left tool marks with up to 1/8 in variations in depth, leaving a trail of deep swirl marks. could be the bits fault. just heartbroken .
